Italy's Jingold's kiwi gift packaging has been positively received. The Christmas packaging is showing to be popular and sales have increased. The packaging contains 7, 14 or 21 kiwis, one for each day of the week," said director Patrizio Neri.
The fruits are gift-wrapped in an eye-catching hand-packed package, and can only be purchased online at lower prices compared to other gifts. Prices range between €6.99 to €16.99 per package.
"We have over 2,000 acres of yellow and red kiwis. The yellow one is proving to be very popular, to the extent that we can't meet all the requests. At the same time, it is gaining a reputation and a new segment of consumers, namely children," said Neri.
"A product that appeals to children is strategic, because every parent will buy a fruit that is desired by their children, given its nutritional value. If the child eats it, the parent will probably consume it as well."

The red kiwi is easily distinguished by its flavor. There are already 200 hectares planted.
Jingold exports 90% of its production. "We are experiencing difficulties overseas, due to logistics costs and the currency exchange, which penalizes us, while in Europe we are expanding strongly. On a national level, we are very well known and present both in the large-scale retail trade and in the markets," he concluded.
