Belgium - Europe's citrus consumption capital

Where does all the citrus go in Europe? Well, the average Belgian eats the most - about 67kg per year. That is according to the European Union's 2018 Food and Agriculture Organization figures, as shown. The Netherlands is in the middle with an average consumption of 27 kilos. People in Hungary, Moldova, and Ukraine eat the least citrus.
