"Indonesia is currently the best export market for our Chinese mandarins"

"October is the time of year when Chinese mandarins in production areas all over the country enter the harvest season. Mandarins from various major production areas enter the Chinese fruit market one after the other. However, the mandarins entered the market around 10 days later than last year because high temperatures and drought in production areas delayed the harvest season this year. Our first harvest of Nanfeng baby mandarins has already entered the Chinese market as well as markets in neighboring countries in the middle of October." This is according to Ms. Judy of Xiamen Rainbow Fruits Co., Ltd.

The main driving forces behind the development of the Chinese mandarin industry are economic growth and the rising living standards of Chinese consumers. China became the world's largest mandarin producer in recent years and is now responsible for more than 25% of the mandarin production volume across the globe. Market conditions continue to improve and the Chinese mandarin industry is not just capable of supplying the domestic market, but the international market as well."

'There are more than 20 mandarin production areas in China, but the main production areas are Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, and Chongqing. These production areas are responsible for more than 90% of the mandarin production volume in China. Xiamen Rainbow Fruits is a company located in Fujian. We mainly manage mandarin orchards in Fujian and nearby Jiangsu and Zhejiang, as well as Guandong and Guangxi. Our main product varieties include the Xinyu mandarin, Nanfeng mandarin, and Gannan Navel orange in Jiangxi; Ponkan tangerines in Fujian; and Shatang tangerines in Guangdong and Guangxi. There are also a number of new product varieties that became popular in recent years: Love of Beauty, Red Beauty, Golden Autumn Shatang tangerines, Orri mandarins, and Murcott tangerines."

"The mandarin production volume in some of our production areas slightly declined this year because the weather conditions were not great. The main reason for the decline of the overall production volume is that the weather was drier than previous years in the latter stage of the season when the tangerines ripen. When the water supply is insufficient, the mandarins do not reach their full size. However, at the same time, the abundance of sunshine and the number of sun hours per day stimulate the even development of color and luster in every mandarin. Furthermore, the sunshine encourages the production of sugar in mandarin and improves the overall flavor. The product quality is excellent, which also makes the mandarin suitable for storage and processing. This is a powerful stimulus for market demand."

"Southeast Asia and nearby areas have become our main export markets in the last ten years or so. Our company created our own trademarks POP and SGV to consolidate our market share. We currently occupy about 15%-20% of the market. Our main export destination is Indonesia. In the future we hope to bring our top-quality mandarins to the European Union, Japan, the Middle East, and other overseas markets."
