San Lucar ships first container with seedless Ecuadorian grapes to Europe

SanLucar shipped 20 metric tons of Crimson Seedless, a red grape variety, from the Hacienda Santa Elena in Ecuador to the port of Rotterdam. SanLucar is a renowned brand for fruit and vegetables, founded by a German in Valencia. In 2015 the first grape harvest went completely to the local market, while this year 2,280 crates will be divided all over Germany, France, Austria and the Benelux countries. In the future an increase in the export volume is expected.

SanLucar currently owns 371 hectare in Ecuador, and 20 hectares are used for the cultivation of the seedless wine grape variety Crimson and its white variety. The SanLucar brand is also an important banana producer. All the bananas are grown in Ecuador to guaranty a stable quality of premium bananas.
