Peru and Brazil closed their first negotiation round

The representatives of Peru and Brazil finish the first negotiation round in Lima, which was held from December 14 to 16, stated the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).

According to the statement, in this negotiation round the groups advanced in the issues of services, investment and government procurement. The authorities also discussed proposals related to the facilitation of bilateral trade and the possible acceleration of tariff reduction schedules under the Economic Complementation Agreement number 58.

The technical group also established a working agenda for the coming months to take advantage of the significant progress achieved and to continue progressing until the next meeting, which will be held in Brazil in March 2016, said Mincetur.

It should be noted that between January and October 2015, bilateral trade between Peru and Brazil amounted to 2.4 billion dollars, which makes Brazil Peru's third largest trading partner.
