Peru: Exporters to make online sales in China

According to the Association of Exporters (ADEX), starting 2016, the Peruvian export companies will start selling their products through the world's largest online market, Alibaba Group, and through the most important Chinese electronic platforms, which will allow them to sell their products directly to the Chinese consumers.

This, they stated, was achieved through the signing of an agreement between Adex, the Chinese Enterprises Association of Peru (Ecolssa), and South American Express.

The union said that this initiative aimed at promoting and implementing the direct sale to customers of various Peruvian products in the Chinese market through major virtual platforms.

"It will be through T-MALL, an online shop owned by Alibaba Group, and through other electronic platforms which will display and offer the Peruvian products," they added.

"This is the begining of a new era of trade between both countries. It will be highly beneficial for Peruvian exporters, due to the higher margin they'll achieve when selling their products, as they'll be their own brand and sell directly to the end consumer," ADEX stated.

In implementing this agreement, the union will promote and coordinate the strengthening of this international trade channel to benefit exporters.

Meanwhile Ecolssa (E-Commerce LogisticService SA) will attend the Peruvian companies that decide to sell their products online, provide them with all the guidance available, and consolidate the products to be shipped to China.

Online sales in China
Online sales in China have increased significantly in recent years, due to the fact that Chinese consumers can see, buy, and pay for products at anytime, from China and also from a total of 25 countries - which Peru will be joining, stated Adex.

According to estimates 650 million people in China make online purchases.

This thanks to the work of online companies, especially the Alibaba Group. 70 percent of payments are made through mobile phones.
