The implementation of the Law on measures to improve the functioning of the food chain and the system of checks of the Information and Food Control Agency (AICA) are the two issues that the Ministry Agriculture, Livestock and Environment and the Association of Fruit and Vegetables of La Rioja (Arifruit), part of the Federation of Employers of La Rioja will address in a technical conference to be held on December 10 .
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Environment, Inigo Nagore, and the president of the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers from La Rioja (Arifrut), Aurora Perez, will open the meeting which will be held at the La Grajera Institutional Warehouse.
The first presentation will be given by Luis Martin, from the Quality Department of the Spanish Federation of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables (FEPEX). Martin will analyze the contents of the new regulations from the perspective of the sector, highlighting the substantial changes it will have on traditional business practices and uses.
The Law of measures to improve the functioning of the food chain sets new contractual obligations in the contractual sphere and in payment deadlines, whose compliance is subject to administrative sanction.
In turn, the director of the AICA, Jose Miguel Herrero, will speak about the checking system being implemented and the actions taken within the specific fruit and vegetable program.
