Minions join Chiquita in fight against hunger

McDill Associates has announced that the most recent partner to join in the fight against hunger as part of its Growing Forward™ with Feeding America® campaign, Chiquita, has committed to donating 50,000 pounds of fresh bananas to Feeding America® member food banks. Chiquita’s sponsorship of the campaign is tied to a promotion of the Minions DVD release, which hits stores on December 8th.

Capitalizing on the popularity of the interactive, digital game created in support of Universal Pictures’ upcoming, highly anticipated home entertainment release of the summer blockbuster Minions, Chiquita’s new online promotion offers consumers a platform to play for a chance to win various prizes. The promotion will also trigger donations to help feed those facing hunger.

“It’s exciting to have such a well-known leader in the fresh category join the Growing Forward campaign,” says Melissa McDill, Campaign Director. “The Chiquita promotion is a perfect example of how fresh brands can effectively keep consumers highly engaged while simultaneously inviting them to participate in cause marketing efforts.”

Starting November 16, and continuing through January 15, individuals can visit to play games and help donate bananas to Feeding America.
