Product of the year 2016 in the 'fruit and vegetable' category goes to the SunGold kiwi from market leader, Zespri. The SunGold kiwi is the first fresh fruit to win the coveted prize, which is known by almost every German. The renowned award is conferred by the trade journal Lebensmittel Praxis each year, based on a representative survey among purchasers aged 18 to 65.
Aromatic, sweet-juicy, rich in vitamin C
The Zespri SunGold Kiwi was imported in spring 2015, and has already won the customer over. The golden yellow, juicy flesh of the hairless SunGold tastes particularly aromatic and refreshingly sweet. Furthermore, SunGold kiwis are particularly rich in vitamin C: they contain three times as much vitamin C per 100 gram of oranges, so that one kiwi naturally contains the daily requirement for one adult. Moreover, SunGold kiwis are truly a nutritional wonder - for example, they contain 10 times as many nutrients as apples.
