Australia: New export record for citrus export

This year, the export of Australian citrus is breaking historical records. The increase in export is mainly caused by the strong demand from Asia.

Judith Damiani, CEO of the Australian Citrus Association, commented that Mainland China and Hong Kong are the country's biggest export markets. However, demand from other Southeast Asian countries is also expanding. According to Mrs Damiani: "in the last three years, the Philippines have developed the fastest as an export market."

"Due to changes in the market, we revised the trade agreement to meet current needs. The Philippines are looking for premium citrus. The change in exchange rates has also benefited exports."

"In terms of export volume, China is still our biggest export market."
