Banana farmers hope low prices will rebound
The Zhongdang banana purchase price has been falling since the beginning of this year. At the moment, prices are not on the rise, but dropping even further compared with the beginning of the year.
According to banana farmers, prices are only 0.45 Yuan per 0.5 kilo. This is just one fourth of the price of last year and the price the year before. Right now, farmers do not even earn back production costs. In addition to this, a lot of banana plants were infected with a disease in the middle of the growing process. The losses of farmers are substantial. They hope the banana price can climb back up gain at the end of this year.
