Sustainable Strawberry confirms good results under Zerya brand

Freson de Palos continues to promote food safety and respect for the environment, just as it did when it was a pioneer in the implementation of an integrated production system. The company has spent eight years researching and working to implement a production system that ensures that the final product is free of residues by using beneficial insects to control pests in the cultivation of strawberries. Three years ago, the company introduced an internal technical protocol of production without residues and the quality brand Zerya certified this management system since the 2013/2014 campaign. As a result, the company started selling the Sustainable Strawberry range in the 2014/2015 campaign.

Zerya is a private quality brand of voluntary compliance that develops food production systems that ensure safety, which improve the food's consistency, durability, and nutritional qualities; thus, the fruit produced is more natural, free from residues, and has an excellent quality. This quality brand differentiates Freson de Palos from other certified products as they implement optimal quality parameters based on environmental protection, sustainability, food security guarantees, and safety for the consumers.

With its Sustainable Strawberry range, Freson de Palos offers consumers a production that uses biological products, botanical extracts, useful insects or biological control of microorganisms that ensures that the certified production under this quality brand is sold free of residues. If the company were to use any exceptionally active material during the campaign, Freson de Palos ensures that the products marketed under this brand won't have any residues above 0.01 parts per million.

Freson de Palos opened its free of residues product range by marketing Sustainable Strawberry. During the 2015 campaign, the Zerya quality brand certified nearly 130 hectares of their strawberries, blueberries and stonefruit crops. Currently, the company has entire crops cultivated under this regulation, as they have proven that the results are positive in all varieties and that the production yields do not decrease.
