Webinar to present new GroupGAP certification

The AMS Specialty Crops Inspection Division, in partnership with the Wallace Center at Winrock International, will present a webinar on GroupGap, a new certification option for the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) audit program. This program makes GAP certification more accessible to small and medium size producers by allowing multiple growers to work together to obtain a single certification as a group. GroupGAP certification offers growers a cost-effective means to show adherence to GAP requirements.

The webinar will cover:
  • Why USDA developed GroupGAP
  • Benefits of group certification for growers, buyers and the supply chain
  • Grower requirements
  • Preparing for a group audit
  • What to expect during your first audit
  • How to apply for group certification
The presentation will be hosted by Ken Petersen, Chief of the Audit Services Branch of the Specialty Crops Inspection Division. Assisting with the presentation will be Donna Burke-Fonda, Assistant Branch Chief, Audit Services Branch.

The webinar will be held on Thursday, 12 November, from 2-3pm (Eastern time). The presentation is free, however, registration is required and space is limited. Please click here to register.
