A group of representatives of the Chilean fresh fruit export sector visited various US retail chains within the framework of the PMA Fresh Summit 2015.
"The goal of the visit was to verify the way in which the fruit reaches these stores. It also was an opportunity to talk to the retailers and find out what their needs are and what their vision are regarding the conditions of arrival of the fruit. Additionally, it was also a very good alternative to visualize new opportunities for Chilean fruit," said Ignacio Caballero, Marketing Coordinator from ASOEX.
Chains
The Chileans visited different retail chains, including: Sprouts Farmers Market, a chain of 212 specialty stores in 13 states in the US that focuses on fresh foods; Whole Foods Market, a supermarket chain specializing in organic foods; Kroger, one of the largest supermarket chains in the United States; and Trader Joe's.
