Total Produce move to Cool Port

On October 9, Total Produce signed an agreement with Kloosterboer. This set in motion a process that will lead to the organization's eventual move to Cool Port, planned for the first half year of 2017.

State-of-the-art distribution centre
Cool Port will be a new, state-of-the-art distribution centre in the Waalhaven. Here, fruit and other cooled products are received, stored, processed where necessary (wrapping, ripening, etc.) and eventually delivered. The unique thing about Cool Port is its location, enabling Total Produce to use multiple modes of transport (water, railway and road). Being next to the water, the barge can be utilized, but export by water through short-sea connections to for instance Scandinavia is also among the possibilities. Cool Port is also directly adjacent to RSC, the rail terminal in the Waalhaven, so that the train can be used to transport the products.

For Total Produce, the move has a number of major advantages. In the modern Cool Port warehouse, service will be greatly improved compared to the current situation, and Total Produce will have in-house packaging possibilities. "By entering into a partnership with Kloosterboer, we can deliver the service clients expect from us, now and in the future. We believe that by combining our expertise, we strengthen each other and are able to establish a successful operation in view of the future," says Michel Jansen, Managing Director of Total Produce.
