Clear decline in sales for Metro Group
Sales for the German Metro-Group in 2013/14 fiscal year has seen a decrease of 4%, nearly 63 billion Euro, reports German website Lebensmittelpraxis.de. The operation EBIT results for exceptional items decreased from 2 billion Euro last year, to 1.73 billion Euro this year.
Sister company Media-Saturn saw good development, while the other sister companies such as Cash & Carry, Real en Kaufhof, showed declining results. Negative currency results had an effect on total sales for Metro Cash & Carry. Sales fell by 2.1 % to 30.5 billion Euro. Metro Cash & Carry sales fell, exclusively in Germany by 0.4 % to 4.8 billion Euro.
