After 6 years of research, SUNSET® has finally reached their goal for large, sweet strawberries. “Greenhouse grown strawberries are very common in the Netherlands, but we know the North American market demand is for large berries that are very sweet,” stated CEO Paul Mastronardi. “That’s why we’ve spent years doing research. We want to ensure our strawberries deliver on size and flavour and exceed SUNSET’s high standards of quality.”
SUNSET® WOW™ berries are grown in the company’s Coldwater greenhouse, located in Michigan. “This is the first high tech greenhouse in the world that’s built specifically for strawberries,” continued Mastronardi.
What’s in a name? “Wow is not only the most common reaction people have when they taste them, but it also stands for Wonders of Winter. It’s almost unheard of to find fresh, local strawberries in the dead of winter that taste as good as they look,” said Mastronardi.
SUNSET® WOW™ berries are now available in 8oz top seal packages.
