In week 40 on the German wholesale market there was a notable supply of domestically grown plums, reports the BLE. The season is almost over. Supplies are falling and Germany had, in particular, the Presenta and Top varieties of plums. The quality of the German plums was not the best. A lot of the plums were too soft and damaged. Due to limited availability, prices rose. For example, in week 39 the Presenta variety was at 77 cents, within that same week the price rose to 1.45. There were not only German suppliers on the market, but also Italian and Spanish suppliers. The prices for the non-German supplies were, on average, higher than the German goods.
