Carrefour Drive’s turnover doesn’t even reach €200 million
According to sources, the 117 Carrefour Drive points within hypermarkets had a €108 million turnover since the start of the year (+15% on a comparable basis).
Even adding on the stand-alone stores, Carrefour hypermarkets are not expected to have more than a €200 million turnover in 2014.
On the 1st September, Carrefour hypermarkets had 117 click and collect points linked to a store, 13 stand-alone click and collect points and 7 satellites (excluding the 276 click and collect points attached to Carrefour Market).
Leclerc believes they will be able, on a comparable basis, to reach a €2 billion turnover this year from their 580 units, in their click and collect points.
In 2014 Carrefour has increased their expansion of standalone click and collect points, notably destined to supply their satellites sites. This strategy means that the retailer will be able to convert the Drive stores that are less profitable into simple pick up points.
