Mexico: Parliament agrees to relief fund in support of Colima lemon
A delegation of Colima farmers and landowners, including Gonzalo Castañeda, Lupillo García, Vicente Orozco Cobián, José Armando Jaramillo, Francisco López Hernández, Rafael Alcalá, Salvador Ramírez, Alfredo Chacón, Vicente Hernández, José María Anguiano, los hermanos Cázares, los ejidos Independencia, Cofradía de Juárez, Cerro de Ortega, Cofradía de Hidalgo Tecomán, Armería, Colomos and San Miguel del Ojo de Agua, explained that: “This support will be the only way local producers are able to protect crops, battle pests and build up reserves.”
According to the delegation, without the relief fund employment could not have been sustained, nor could cultivation have continued in a proper fashion.
