Spanish navelina supply doubled

Supplying the Spanish navelina in the German market has more than doubled over the last week and the quality has greatly improved. Before this, there was something of a shortage. Now, the size, maturity, peelability and levels of juice are all good.

Due to the cold weather, demand grew, but not enough to prevent prices falling. The same thing happened to Italian suppliers with their Sicilian varieties: there were not enough buyers.

Smaller varieties abroad were cultivated for squeezing and were ideal for that. These types of oranges have generated considerable interest.
