Spain: 29 exporters already certified by AILIMPO

The Quality Label Ailimpo, after the incorporation of the companies Scorpyus Fruits, SA and Fruits Apemar, SL, now has 29 Spanish lemon exporters that have their facilities certified under the Protocol of Ailimpo Almacenes de Confección de limón.

The objective of this system of certification and approvals is to ensure that certified exporters and stores meet a number of minimum requirements in the following areas: Food safety, environmental management, work health and safety, corporate social responsibility, tax compliance and social security, and a commitment to use the contract type approved field purchases to lemon farmers.

The protocols and the quality label are configured as an instrument of self-regulation
to identify Spanish companies exporting lemon guaranteeing the supply of lemons with the highest standards and quality.

The certification process is voluntary, and allows companies that are certified to have a not only an element of differentiation, but also a distinction through the brand/logo itself, to ensure their clients that the Spanish lemon sector works with the best practices represented by the interprofessional Ailimpo that is officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and the European Commission.
