Chile: Low temps force blueberry rethink

The temperature has been creating some uncertainty in the dynamics of the Chilean blueberry harvest.

Last week the regions ready to commence their season - VI and Metropolitana - showed a deficit of around 37% and the advance that had been observed in region VIII had gone into decline.

If the low temperature accumulation continues the peaks that were earlier predicted will be delayed. The situation will be re-evaluated by the end of November to ascertain whether or not the first peak of the season will be advanced.

For now the volumes of harvested from IV and V regions are higher than estimated, but remain limited in availability.
