Netherlands: PB Techniek and Berg Hortimotive present solar deck for pipe rail trolleys

Last year Horti Fair, the Dutch Horticultural Fair, witnessed the introduction of a prototype of the Solardeck. In the past year the deck has been extensively tested by companies like Royal Pride, Kaaij Group, Village Farms, Agro Care and Improvement Centre. To really perfect the Solardeck PB Techniek and Berg Hortimotive joined forces.

What is the Solardeck? It’s essentially a series of solar panels that can be mounted on a pipe rail trolley. This means the trolley doesn’t have to be sent to a charging centre every few days. Empty pipe rails, according to the designers, are a thing of the past. The investment, the inventers promise, pays for itself within 36 months. Purchasers will also be eligible for E.I.A. and K.I.A. grants.

Last week, the two joining companies presented the Solardeck on this year’s Horti Fair in Amsterdam.
