France: share organic agriculture more than 5% in 2015?

According to a study by the ministry of agriculture in France it is possible that in 2015 a total of 18,600 companies will change to the organic way of working. This means that about 745,000 HA would additionally be cultivated organically. This also means that in a period of five years (from 2010) the organic area can be doubled in size. With this the organic agriculture would increase to 5.5 percent.

All this according to the note 'Perspectives en agriculture biologique à l'horizon 2015'. The prediction is based on figures of L'Agence Bio en 'recensement agricol' (RA).

From this map one can see how many organic companies are expected per region
in 2015. It is expected that there will be a considerable increase in Southern and
Eastern France.
