Belgian Fruitveiling attended Fruit Attraction

“A lot of interest in top brands”

For thesecond time in a row, the Belgische Fruitveiling (Belgian Fruit Auction) attendedFruit Attraction in Madrid from 24 to 26 October. “We mostly presented our topfruit,” say Betty Slingers and Ann Beringhs. “And responses were overtlypositive. Spanish companies were showing a lot of interest in the Conférence, seeing that crops were down this year. We also saw many visitors interested inour top branches Sweet Sensation, Joly Red and our favourite, the Truval. TheJoly Red was introduced very recently, and we anticipate the variety will do wellon the international market."

The BFV is focusingon marketing the Truval (or the True Value). “So far it’s paying off. Peopleknow the variety everywhere now. It’s always hard to predict the market for top fruit. Prices seem a bit high at the moment.”

The BelgianFruit Auction exports all kinds of fruit. The company ships Conférence and Jonagoredto Spain, but also trades in berries.
