Peru: Banana exports up 29% until August

Between January and August 2012, Peruvian banana and plantain exports made US$ 54.1 million, at an average price of US$ 0.68 per kilo, which means a 29% growth compared to the same period last year. 

According to the latest customs report, elaborated by the specialised portal Agrodataperu, the top destinations ranking was led by the Netherlands, with US$ 28.8 million (53% of the total), followed by the United States, with US$ 11.2 million (21%), Belgium, US$ 3.4 million (7%) and Germany, US$ 3.4 million (6%); besides 14 other countries.
