Canada: New Hamsphire orchard on lookout for apple thieves
Employees at Mack’s Apples in Londonderry say they have been seeing customers buy one bag of apples, and then fill their car trunks full of fruit they did not pay for.
Farm managers told WMUR-TV (http://bit.ly/QvhII4) only a small number of customers are committing the thefts, but in a year with a thin apple crop it does have an impact on the orchard’s bottom line.
General Manager Mike Cross said ‘‘Every apple’s worth something to us, and we’re trying to get as much as we can.’’
