“Social media brings customer closer”

Fresh Produce is increasingly finding its way to social media. For about a year now, wholesaler Yzewyn in Antwerp, Belgium has been employing social media in order to promote the business, and young owner Tim Yzewyn is delighted. “Right now we are using facebook, and it’s great. The great advantage of social media is that you reach people you wouldn’t usually reach. Also, you can keep customers up to date, making them privy to the goings-on at the company. It brings them closer.”

According to Tim it’s mostly the younger generation that is responsive. “Customers’ reactions are encouraging, but it’s mainly the younger people, familiar with social media, that really take to it.”

Tim confirms that Facebook has a positive influence on sales. “We notice that our activity on the internet helps us with our sales. The users of social media are increasing, and it’s still a great medium to bring them closer to our business. My advice is: stay trendy, keep distinguishing yourself!”
