Egyptian grapes formally granted access to China

The Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt and General Administration of quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People´s Republic of China (AQSIQ) have finally signed the protocol granting Egyptian grapes access to the Chinese market. This was made possible with the help of Horticultural Export Improvement Association (HEIA) of Egypt.



The formal signing took place at the Ministry of Agrcitulture in Cairo, Egypt this morning (Tuesday). It was attended by the following: Chairman Mohsen El Betagy; Vice Chairman Gamal Aziz; General Secretary Helmy Issa; General Treasurer Ahmed Razek; Board Member Louay El Kott; Member Mohkles Harraz and Executive Director Iman Kamel who was the force behind the agreement. AEC´s Board Member Samir El-Naggar was also present.



The protocol was signed by Dr. Ahmad Abu El-Yazeid, head of the services sector of the Ministry of Agriculture, Egypt and Vice Minister Chen Gang (AQSIQ).

Director Zhu Zhaoyin of AQSIQ (China) and Chinese Ambassador Song Aiguo (Egypt) were also present.
