Space saving potato side dishes for holiday cooking

Just in time for Thanksgiving and the holiday season, Side Delights® potatoes suggests space-saving solutions for small kitchens or large gatherings where oven space becomes an issue. For a fast, filling and gluten-free side dish, Side Delights now provides three product lines of potatoes, packaged specifically for your microwave or grill, leaving room in the oven for turkeys, hams, pies and more.

“Potatoes are a holiday favorite, but if you live in an urban location where stove and oven real estate is a luxury, Side Delights® products save time and space.” noted Kathleen Triou, President and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network. The timesaving trend has been growing, with value-added produce items (prepared) accounting for 84% of the incremental sales dollars in the produce category in 2015. One of the most popular solutions is microwaveable bags, with Side Delights® Steamables as the #1 selling microwave potato brand. Side Delights® Bakeables, single serve/individually wrapped baking potatoes are also for the microwave, and Side Delights® Roastables, triple-washed, sold in its own metal baking tray with custom seasoning blends, also save space and time utilizing the grill. “To save even more time and space, pre-prepare the potatoes in the microwave or on the grill and then refrigerate and use in a variety of salads and other dishes for spectacular “day after” leftovers,” added Triou.
