The 'Potato Olympiad' is coming to Germany: on 3 and 4 September Potato Europe will be held at Bockerode manor in Hannover, report German website Gabot.de. The agricultural exposition will return to Lower Saxony and take place in the open air after stop-overs in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Over the course of two days everything relating to potato production and processing will be on display.
Potato professionals from home and abroad will give machine demonstrations and field trials and the International Potato Congress will also be held. Focus will cover different subjects from developments in cultivation, fertilization, crop protection, technology and trade. The target audience for Potato Europe are any businesses involved with potatoes, from growers, advisers, packers, consultants and the food processing trade. There are 200 exhibitors and over 10,000 trade visitors expected. Organisers are the 'German Agricultural Society' (DLG) and the Union of the German Potato Industry' (UNIKA).
