After careful preparation, Maarten Schrijvershof has transferred his shares in Schrijvershof to fellow shareholder Maarten Jr. Schrijvershof and employee René Kraaijeveld. Together with Willem Schrijvershof, they will now take responsibility for the company's strategic direction and day-to-day management.

"After a journey of almost forty years, which began in retail with local shops and markets, we have grown into an internationally operating organisation. Along the way, I led the development of our import activities. Over the years, we shifted our focus to overseas fruit and built strong relationships with many growers and customers. With René joining as an external shareholder, we strengthen the foundation for further growth and long-term continuity. At the same time, this step gives me space to devote time to other matters. I look back with gratitude on everything we have achieved together and look ahead with confidence."
Sustainable growth
Maarten Jr. joined three years ago after a career at Deloitte and represents the fourth generation in the family business. Since then, he has played an important role in Schrijvershof's development. "Together with our team and our growers, we aim for sustainable growth. Direct cooperation at the source makes us stronger and ensures a short, distinctive supply chain. My focus is on overall operations and our retail growth targets. I also take over responsibility for sourcing in South Africa from Maarten. Our close cooperation in recent years now leads to a natural handover, for which I would like to thank Maarten."
René Kraaijeveld, who also joined three years ago, brings extensive experience in the sector. In recent years, he has contributed significantly to expanding the grower network and developing new origin countries within the import portfolio. "It is special to become part of a family business with such a long history as the first external shareholder," says René. "I look forward to continuing to build the future of Schrijvershof together with Willem and Maarten Jr. I would like to thank Maarten for the trust he has placed in me and for the opportunities I have been given."
Willem thanked Maarten on behalf of Schrijvershof for his commitment, passion, and unwavering dedication. "This not only marks the departure of a valued colleague, but for me personally, it also means the departure of my brother. It has been special to work together in our family business. You were the one who initiated the transition from retail to import and export, and I am proud of what has been achieved."
