Croatian apple growers open new logistics centre near Zagreb

JabukaHR, an association of 18 Croatian apple producers, has opened a new logistics and distribution centre worth €26 million (US$28.2 million) in Kriz, near Zagreb, according to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

The project received €15 million (US$16.3 million) in funding from the European Union–backed National Plan for Recovery and Resilience, provided through Croatia's Ministry of Agriculture. The remaining funds were secured through the association's own resources and loans.

According to the announcement, the new facility will allow producers to store and distribute apples more efficiently and sell them during periods of higher market demand.

JabukaHR's investment marks an effort to strengthen domestic apple production and improve the sector's post-harvest logistics capacity, aligning with broader EU initiatives to modernize agricultural infrastructure and enhance market stability.
