While North America has been a key export market for bananas from Mexico, Asia is becoming increasingly important. "We are committed to connecting with consumers who value high-quality, organic products with international certifications," says Jorge Ángel Aguilar Gallegos, CEO of Coliman Bananas. In both regions, the company has been witnessing growth in its organic banana program in particular. "While Europe and North America are mature markets for organic bananas, Asia still has significant growth potential. Therefore, we've been putting our efforts in the Asian market in the past five years," Aguilar Gallegos commented.
Participating in International trade fairs such as Asia Fruit Logistica and other business platforms has opened the door to new opportunities, allowing Coliman to expand their presence, consolidate relationships with current customers, and forge ties with future strategic allies on the Asian continent.

Strategic alliances
Expansion in the Asian continent is just one of three strategic areas driving Coliman's future growth. "We also strongly believe that partnerships are crucial as unity is strength." Outside Mexico, the company has formed strategic alliances with other leading banana-producing countries such as Ecuador. "These alliances strengthen our competitiveness and ensure a consistent supply in various markets." In addition, they also allow for sharing knowledge, enhancing operational efficiency, and responding more effectively to global demand.
New technologies
Innovation is another area of focus and implementing new technologies is fundamental to the company's growth model. "From optimizing water use with advanced irrigation systems to using digital tools for quality control and product traceability, we are able to guarantee that our bananas meet the highest international standards." Additionally, digitizing internal processes strengthens efficiency and generates greater value for customers and employees.
"We believe the future is built on a global vision, international collaboration, and technological innovation," Aguilar Gallegos added. "Every step we take is an opportunity to grow, promote well-being, and contribute to the sustainable development of the communities we work in."
