California table grape season begins in Coachella Valley

The California table grape season kicked off in Coachella Valley, according to Ian Lemay, President and CEO of the California Table Grape Commission. Grape packing operations commenced last week in Riverside County and are projected to continue from mid-May through mid-July.

Subsequently, significant volume is anticipated in the San Joaquin Valley, with regions such as Arvin-Madera expected to start around late June, coinciding with the Fourth of July weekend. This timing aligns with consumer availability in retail spaces.

The current projections indicate a lengthy season, potentially extending through January 2026, ensuring a steady presence in the market. Producers and stakeholders are monitoring the quality as it progresses into the retail phase.
