Cartonpack Group - Italy

Ecodesign: Solutions for the fruit and vegetable sector

The Cartonpack Group, an Italian company focused on packaging for the fruit and vegetable sector, reaffirms its commitment to eco-design as a strategic pillar for the development of new formats. Now more than ever, sustainability and innovation must go hand in hand to meet environmental, regulatory, and consumer demands.

Functional and responsible packaging
One of the pillars of Cartonpack's strategy is the development of functional and sustainable packaging that can be adapted to the specific needs of the product and its distribution.

An example of this concept is the Cartonshell© package with integrated lid, a fully recyclable package designed for products such as berries, cherry tomatoes, or grapes that require protection, visibility, and ease of consumption. This type of packaging, which not only improves the consumer experience, also reduces the use of auxiliary materials made of 100% cellulose, optimizes logistics, and enriches the presentation of the product at the point of sale thanks to the total customization of the packaging. The integrated lid makes it easy to close and reuse, in perfect harmony with the principles of the circular economy.

Eco-friendly packaging: Natural, safe, and compostable
Another important eco-design innovation from the Cartonpack Group is pulp packaging. This 100% compostable, plant-based technology is ideal for delicate products such as blueberries, grapes, tomatoes, and stone fruits, where protection and sustainability must coexist. The pulp offers natural protection, breathability, and resistance, preserving the freshness of the fruit and confirming the commitment to the environment. It is also fully compliant with new European regulations that promote the use of recyclable or compostable materials.

Committed to the future of the industry
"Ecodesign is not a trend, it is a necessary requirement for the future of the fruit and vegetable sector", says Floriana Vitale, Marketing and Communication Manager of the Cartonpack Group. This means a constant search for innovative materials, optimized designs, and customized solutions, without compromising on aesthetics and functionality.

A concrete example of innovation and sustainability is the resealable package, which offers the consumer a positive user experience and the possibility to dose the product. The closure system keeps the contents sealed for a longer shelf life. This helps prevent spoilage and food waste. With its portfolio of formats and patented technology, the Group is a strategic partner for manufacturers and distributors focusing on responsible, attractive, and efficient packaging.

The Cartonpack Group will be an exhibitor at Macfrut 2025 (Rimini, 6-8 May) in Hall B1 / Stand 155.
