Australian Bananas debuts kids’ farming video at Easter Show

Australian Bananas has launched a 'Farm-to-Table' educational video aimed at children during the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The initiative seeks to connect kids with the origins of their food, with bananas being a common staple in 90% of Australian households. The video, produced by Hort Innovation and Thinkerbell, features rugby league player Thomas Flegler at his family's banana farm in North Queensland. It combines real-life farming with animated illustrations, following the character 'Anna Goes Bananas' through the banana production process.

Emma Day, Senior Marketing Manager at Hort Innovation, stated, "We believe that educating children about where their food comes from is crucial for fostering healthy eating habits. Our new video brings the story of banana farming to life in a way that is both engaging and informative."

The Australian Bananas activation at the Royal Easter Show, located in the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome, is expected to draw over 900,000 visitors. Attendees can watch the farm-to-plate video showcasing banana growth, harvesting, and transportation. Additionally, there are opportunities for grower conversations, sampling banana-based snacks, and participating in an energizing bike ride to create smoothies. Educational materials, including a map of banana-growing regions in Australia and a coloring sheet for children, are also available.
