Azerbaijan’s fruit and vegetable exports decrease in 2024, while imports grow

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 686,200 tons of fruits and vegetables, valued at $707.8 million. According to calculations by BMG based on data from the State Customs Committee, the export value dropped by $18.1 million (2.5%) compared to 2023, while export volumes decreased by 35,800 tons (5%).

Fruits and vegetables accounted for 2.67% of Azerbaijan's total exports during this period and 21.09% of non-oil exports.

Meanwhile, the country imported 375,000 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $281.8 million in 2024. This represents an increase of $51.9 million (22.6%) in value and 22,200 tons (6.3%) in volume compared to 2023. The share of fruits and vegetables in total imports during this period was 1.34%.

Overall, Azerbaijan's exports of fruits and vegetables in 2024 exceeded imports by more than 2.5 times in value and 1.8 times in volume.
