Ready Pac Produce, a subsidiary of Bonduelle Americas, is set to vacate its distribution center located on Railroad Avenue in Florence, New Jersey, by April 1. This move, as disclosed in a notification to the New Jersey Department of Labor, is aimed at consolidating operations to bolster efficiency and customer service. The company has announced that the 75 employees currently stationed at the Florence facility will be given the option to relocate to another Bonduelle site in Gloucester County.
The strategic relocation to Swedesboro, positioned immediately adjacent to the company's manufacturing premises, is expected to slash shuttle durations by over 45 minutes. This adjustment is anticipated to not only expedite service delivery to customers but also to diminish the organization's carbon footprint, thereby mitigating its environmental impact. "Relocating our warehouse operations to directly across the street from our manufacturing site in Swedesboro will enable us to decrease shuttle times by 45+ minutes, improve customer service delivery, and reduce our carbon footprint and overall impact on the planet," the company articulated.
The Florence establishment, described in an online advertisement for potential lessees, encompasses a refrigerated space of 152,000 square feet and was erected in 1980. Ready Pac is an integral component of the Bonduelle Groupe, a family-operated entity based in France with a history dating back to 1853. Bonduelle Group's acquisition of Ready Pac in 2017 expanded its portfolio to include a variety of fresh-cut salads, vegetables, and prepared meals catering to the retail and food service sectors in the U.S., marketed primarily under the Bistro brand.
