In recent years, Uzbekistan has been increasingly focusing on the planting of intensive fruit tree varieties when establishing new orchards, allowing the population to enjoy fresh fruits year-round.
During a working visit to the Kashkadarya region, the Minister of Agriculture, Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov, visited a fig plantation owned by the farming enterprise "Qo'chqorov Nazir." On an area of 2 hectares, fig bushes yield an average of 70–80 kilograms of fruit per bush.
In the future, it is planned to establish fig orchards on a territory of 8,000 hectares across the country, with 1,000 hectares allocated for Kashkadarya. This is due to the region's ideal climatic conditions for fig cultivation.
