Spanish lemon harvest will grow by 34% in the 2023/2024 campaign

AILIMPO's estimate for the lemon production in the 2023/2024 season points to the production in Spain reaching 1,365,000 tons; a similar figure to that already achieved in the 2020/2021 campaign. This entails a 34% increase compared to the 2022/2023 season (which had the lowest harvest in the last 10 years), and which has come to an end with a final production totaling 1,018,407 tons, according to the provisional balance, which accounts for the fruit exported, processed or sold in the domestic market, as well as for volume losses.

The 22/23 balance has been practically in line with the AILIMPO estimate of 1,090,000 tons in September, which was updated in January to 1,011,000 tons.

As for grapefruit, AILIMPO's grapefruit production estimate for the 2023/2024 season points to a volume totaling 90,000 tons; practically the same as in the previous season.
