All fruit and vegetable market operators are warned that unidentified individuals are making attempts to establish contacts with producing companies, including those overseas, to request purchases and supplies of products, qualifying themselves as representatives of EUROFRUT S.p.A. based at the CAAB- Centro Agroalimentare in Bologna, Italy.
These were attempts to scam using corporate identity theft against the company, which had never granted any kind of authorization to third parties. In this case, suppliers are being approached by an alleged company delegate through fake email addresses.
Growers are advised to stay alert when any order is placed by Eurofrut and request confirmation of the order by contacting legitimate managers of Eurofrut S.p.A. at the following telephone numbers and addresses:
