Tajikistan must find stable and beneficial partners for the export of its agricultural products

Tajikistan is expecting a record onion harvest this year

The export of early-harvest agricultural products from Tajikistan has started, including onions. The export of early onions to Kazakhstan has already reached a volume of approximately 200 tons.

Tajikistan is expecting a record onion harvest this year, reaching approximately 700,000 tons. Despite Tajikistan's population demand for onions, which amounts to around 300,000 tons, the remaining portion of the production needs to be exported because the country lacks sufficient storage facilities for agricultural products.

Farmers are facing the issue of offered prices by exporters and intermediaries not meeting their expectations. The cost of onion cultivation is rising due to mineral fertilizers, agricultural machinery services, and transportation expenses.
