Abrafrutas sets up meeting to address demands from the fruit sector

The Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Derivatives (ABRAFRUTAS) has met with the secretary of Agriculture and Supply of the state of São Paulo, Antonio Junqueira. The meeting was set up to address various matters in the sector, including procedures for registration in the Computerized System of the Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo (GEDAVE) for the issuance of the MAPA Phytosanitary Certificate, referring to the export of fruits in natura.

According to the director of Abrafrutas, Luiz Eduardo Raffaelli, they also discussed the alignment of a visit in which producers and exporters of lemons in the state of São Paulo will receive authorities from the European Union (EU) for an audit next month.

Other issues discussed at the meeting were tackling citrus canker in the state, proposals related to greater professionalization of the sector and stricter control by health authorities.
