Sri Lanka: Coconut auction prices up 5.1 percent

On May 25, Sri Lanka’s coconut auction prices gained 5.1 percent from a week ago. The average price for 1,000 nuts increased to Rs 69,699 from Rs 66,301 a week earlier at the weekly auction conducted by Sri Lanka’s Coconut Development Authority.

The highest price was Rs 75,200 for 1,000 nuts slightly up from the previous week’s Rs 75,100, while the lowest was Rs 76,500 up from Rs 61,000. The auction offered 678,770 coconuts; 512,848 nuts were sold.
