The BBQ-flavored purple sweet potato chips from the Spanish brand Genuine Coconut have won the third prize for Best Innovation at the international fair ISM 2023, the world's largest trade fair for candy and snacks, held in Cologne, Germany, in recent days.
"This award is given by an international jury of experts in new trends in the snacks and confectionery market, and is intended as a reward for the best innovations presented annually at this fair. The award is once again highlighting the innovative character of Genuine Coconut, which has stood out since its inception for its constant search for new, high quality products with the capacity to offer added value to the consumer," said Ana Molina, Europe Sales Manager at Genuine Coconut, which this year participated with a stand of its own design where it presented its new innovative line of fruit and vegetable chips: Genfruit & Genvegs.
This new project features up to 21 different healthy snack options, with which the company seeks to further strengthen its international presence.
"All of them are surprising because of their crunchy texture and flavor. It's hard to pick just one, because they are all delicious. What I can tell you is that consumers' tastes change depending on the country, which is why we offer so many options. In Spain, for example, mango chips are very popular, but in other destinations, such as the United States, jackfruit or purple sweet potato and taro chips are the most popular."
In addition to the jury's award, the BBQ-flavored purple sweet potato chips have received excellent reviews from visitors to the fair. "They are a delicious alternative to traditional potato snacks. They are vegan chips, with no added preservatives, and are also a source of potassium and rich in fiber. They have an intense purple color with no artificial coloring. In line with the company's commitment to sustainability, they are distributed in an original packaging which is 70% paper, helping them stand out from their competitors. This award is a recognition to Genuine Coconut's track record as a company with strong values that have marked its differentiating character since it was founded in 2015."

The new Genfruit & Genvegs lines will be added to the product portfolio of the Aragonese company Genuine Coconut, which was already working with coconut products that have turned the firm into a leader in the sector in Europe.
