Korean pine nuts will be added to the list of strategically important goods, according to a draft government resolution posted for public discussion by the Ministry of Justice.
The proposed changes will attract criminal liability for smuggling Korean pine nuts with a value of over 1 million Robles ($13,600) across the border of the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Justice stresses that such changes will not affect the legal commercial turnover of Korean pine nuts in Russia. However, they will help ensure the safety of the cedar forests and prevent smuggling, which will promote legal entrepreneurship.
