Termotécnica supports Customized Packaging Program to reduce food losses along value chain

To reduce produce losses during transport between producers and points of sale, the Brazilian Packaging Association (ABRE) launched the Customized Packaging Program. Termotécnica, which offers EPS packaging solutions under the DaColheita and FarmFresh brands (external market) to ensure the integrity of produce at all stages of transport, is one of the sponsors of this initiative.

For Luciana Pellegrino, executive director of ABRE, the standardization of the size of the base of the boxes of the Customized Packaging Program will prevent the products that are on top from pressing and leaning on those that are below during the transfer. This measure should eliminate losses resulting from inadequate stacking of packages of different sizes in the mixed load.

Nivaldo de Oliveira, Superintendent of Termotécnica: “The Tailored Packaging Project is an important initiative that brings together major players in the sector to combat one of the biggest challenges for producers, distributors and sellers: taking FLV from the place where they are produced to the consumer's table avoiding losses on the way."
