Fruitway was founded in June 2019. It started as a packaging company for FruitSolute (formerly Bratzler & Co) in the Netherlands.
By now, 88 people work in the Frutiway warehouse, and the company is considering the possibility of also packaging for third parties.
"In those first years, we expanded rapidly under FruitSolute's wing," says Maga Amarchanov, who started working for LLD B.V. in 2016.
"We started with 35 people in 2019, but we've already added 20 employees this year alone. When the opportunity arose to start our own packaging company, we pounced on it. My brother Jacob is Fruitway's CEO, and I'm COO."
"We sort FruitSolute's orders by quality, repackaging the products if desired, and coat or sticker the lot. We have seven machines to pack produce in clafnet, flow pack, foodtainer, netlon, seal, trays or boxes. Our motto, 'packing with care,' says it all," Maga explains.
"We've recently grown substantially alongside FruitSolute. We mostly sort and package avocados and mangoes, but we also do products like kiwis, papayas, and ginger. Our current aim includes attracting more customers. We can provide packing personnel at any location and entirely customized services, thereby offering total client relief."
Maga does not consider finding new, sufficient staff a hurdle. "We're very active on social media and advertise via stickers on company vehicles. That's paying off. We're getting many new employees applying. I get seven to 12 calls a day," he concludes.
